Where do I start?

Contact us to schedule a free consultation! We’ll come to your home, take measurements and discuss the project with you. After you choose your favorite material(s) at one of our select local stone suppliers or online, we will send you an estimate for your project. If you decide to go ahead, we’ll visit a second time to make a template, then a third time to install.

How long is the process?

Depending on the season and the project, 7– 10 days after you pick your material, although we will often be able to accommodate shorter turnaround times.

What kind of stone should I choose?

When it comes to picking the right stone for your kitchen countertops, bathroom countertops or fireplace surround, the choice can be daunting but ultimately, it depends on the aesthetic effect you want to achieve and how much use (and abuse) the stone will be subjected to. We recommend that you read the latest Consumer Report’s Buying Guide to Countertops for more information.

What do I need at the time of template?

All cabinets, panels, filler pieces, etc. should be in place. You should also have purchased your sink, faucet and other fixtures, which we will need to take with us for fabrication. If you have not yet purchased a sink (or a faucet), we can provide you one from a quality high-end sink/faucet supplier (ask us for a catalog!).

How much do you sell the square foot?

Price/sq. ft. for granite countertops, quartz countertops, marble countertops and other stone surfaces depends on the type of material you choose, as some materials are more common than others. Stone suppliers divide granite, marble and other natural stones into three “groups” from the most common/popular (i.e. least expensive) to the rarest (i.e. most expensive), and will guide you to the “group” of your choice depending on your budget. Our all-inclusive prices start at $30/sq. ft. (on select small projects) or around $45/sq. ft. (on larger projects), and always include material, fabrication, holes, cutouts, standard edges, sealing and installation!

What is included in the price?

Everything! With our all-inclusive price structure, you won’t get any bad surprises. Our price will always include material, fabrication, holes, cutouts, standard edges, sealing and installation! When we give you a price per sq. ft., we don’t mean “price/sq. ft. + hidden costs”…

What edges are available?

You may choose from a wide selection of edges for your kitchen countertops or bathroom countertops, depending on the aesthetic effect you want to achieve. Standard edges are always included in the price! Visit our Gallery for pictures of standard, fancy and laminated edges. Visit MSI’s Virtual Countertop Edge Visualizer to see what different edges look like on different granite countertops, quartz countertops and marble countertops.

Do you mount sinks to countertops?

Yes. Sinks are mounted to kitchen countertops and bathroom countertops using underside anchors and special screws for a permanent, tightfitting setup. Silicone is then added for waterproofing.

Do you install faucets and other plumbing fixtures?

Your finished countertops will feature holes for faucet fixtures and soap dispenser (optional) and sink cutouts, but all plumbing fixtures should be installed by your plumber.

Will seams show?

A seam is the line where two pieces of stone join. Your layout, as well as the material you choose, will determine whether there will be a seam in your granite countertops, quartz countertops or marble countertops. Seams, when necessary, are smooth and flat, but not 100% undetectable. If you do not want seams, it might be possible to use a larger slab (depending on your layout). This will be discussed during your initial consultation.

How thick are the countertops?

At Angelo’s Marble & Granite, LLC., we pride ourselves in using quality materials from the best stone suppliers. Our standards kitchen countertops and granite countertops are always over an inch thick (3 cm)! Unlike discount countertops, they won’t break under stress, and with quality installation and proper care, they will stand up to the test of time and provide an attractive surface for many years to come.

What is your payment policy?

We accept cash, personal or certified checks, all major credit cards and Paypal. We require a 50% deposit at the time of acceptance of proposal or template. Balance is due upon installation.

Do I have to buy a full slab from the stone supplier?

No. We buy the slab. You only pay for the material you use, based on your project’s square footage.

I have the stone! Can you fabricate and install countertops for me?

Absolutely! The average U.S. homeowner moves 7–11 times in his lifetime. That means a lot of kitchen renovations and bathroom remodelings, and Craigslist and similar sites are full of ads from people selling or giving away their old countertops. If you have existing countertops and want to reuse them, contact us. We’ll be happy to come and take a look at your material and project. If the countertops can be reused, we’ll take them to our workshop and will fabricate them and install them for you. While the total cost will be much lower than using new countertops (since you’ll be paying only for labor and not installation), keep in mind that some damages and defects in the stone cannot be fixed. For this reason, we will offer only basic workmanship warranty on used countertops fabrication.

Can I get an estimate without your coming to my home?

Yes. Simply measure your countertops space carefully and send us the measurements as well as any relevant information, such as layout and desired material. We will send you a preliminary estimate based on the information you provided. However, please note that we will need to confirm measurements and you will need to choose a material (specific granite, quartz, marble or other stone surface) before we can provide a final quote.

Do I need to seal stone surfaces regularly?

The topic of sealing natural stone is somewhat controversial, as not all natural stones are so porous that they need to be sealed. But in many cases, sealing will help avoid stains from acidic and oily products and gives you more time to clean up messes. We always seal your countertops before installation, and recommend sealing them once a year thereafter.

Can old/damaged granite countertops be repaired?

In some cases, chips and cracks in damaged granite countertops and marble countertops can be hidden using matching epoxy resin then polishing it to look smooth and fairly inconspicuous. Some old countertops may also be polished to look like new. Contact us for a free consultation. We will let you if your kitchen countertops or bathroom countertops can be repaired, and we’ll be happy to do it for you until you can budget for new ones!

Where should I go to choose my material?

To choose your material, you can either visit one of our suppliers in person, or visit their website. For granite countertops and marble countertops, we recommend seeing the slabs in person as there are great variations in natural stones. We currently partner with premium stone suppliers in Bridgeport (CT), Norwalk (CT), Wilton (CT), Milford (CT), Port Chester (NY), and surrounding areas. If you’d like to choose your material in person and our current suppliers are too far from you, we will strive to partner with a supplier in your area. However, keep in mind that a supplier may not be available near you. If you already have a material in mind but it’s not available from one of our suppliers, we will do our best to find it for you!
